Our
programs

Our programs are designed to strengthen Nigeria's food systems by turning evidence into action. We work across research, policy, and implementation to address food and nutrition insecurity, reduce post-harvest losses, and support climate-resilient agriculture—especially for smallholder farmers and vulnerable communities. Through collaboration with government, private sector actors, development partners, and local communities, our programs focus on practical, scalable solutions that improve food availability, accessibility, and sustainability nationwide.

Policy is the most powerful lever to transform how food security and in the words of Akinwumi Adesina, Fmr President of the African Development Bank:

"No matter how innovative or transformative technologies are, without supportive policies, they will not go far."

Generating context-specific insights on agriculture, nutrition, climate, and food security to inform smarter policies.

The Unveiling Narrative:

Our Philosophy

We are systems thinkers. We believe in public purpose, local leadership, and the power of aligned partnerships. Our approach is not to work around government but with it, inside it, and beyond it, to shape lasting reform. We collaborate with ministries, parliaments, donors, research institutes, and communities. From national policy to local realities, our work bridges sectors and scales.

As a unit of the Nigeria Food Security Project, the Centre is supported through hybrid funding, multi-donor grants, public-private partnerships, consulting, and research commercialization. Every insight we generate and every partnership we build moves Nigeria closer to a more secure, sustainable, and sovereign food future.
